On December 27, 2023 the Dirigo Elementary School water was tested and the results showed that it contained 20.5 parts per trillion of PFAS ( polyfluoroalkyl substances). The State of Maine allowable is 20 parts per trillion. This issues was rectified in March of 2024 with a new water filtration system that meets all State of Maine Requirements. All test since have met the state's requirements. We are required to share this information with our school community. If you have any questions you can reach out to Jason Pushard, the operator of Maine Rural Water at 207-837-8493.
