Dear Parents & Guardians,
It seems impossible that Trimester 2 Report Cards are coming home already. They are scheduled to be sent in backpacks on Friday, March 28. Below is some information about the report cards.
If you are in a split home and need an extra copy of the report card sent, please make sure we know.
There are a lot of papers being sent home with the report card. Please read each of them for important information.
One of the pages coming home are Attendance Reports for students who are chronically absent. We are required to notify parents about this, but most important we want the kids here as much as we can have them.
If your child has Title 1 or Special Education services there will be progress reports in the report card.
Just a reminder that our grading system is on a 1-4 scale. 4 - Student has mastered the skill at a higher level than expected for their grade level. 3 - Student can do or understands the skill/topic at an independent level. 2 - Student is working towards being independent, but still needs some teacher help. 1 - Student is not independent at all with the skill and need a lot of teacher support. We do use .5 to indicate that a student is in between the two levels listed.
PLEASE read the comments that the teachers provide. Many of these are directed more at each individual learner and can give you more information about how they are doing.
We have HOWL grades on our report cards - these are Habits of Work and Learning and these grades are about the student's attitude towards learning, their work ethic and general behavior.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.
