On Friday, March 28, 2025 Mrs. Petherbridge was presented with a well deserving honor, the Walter J. Taranko Maine School Librarian of the Year Award. All of us who have had the privilege of working with Mrs. P, know that this award could not have gone to a more deserving individual. Mrs. P not only manages our library (ordering, sorting, cataloging, shelving and weeding books), but she also engages 21 different classes with a variety of literacy, library and technology based lessons. Mrs. P also organizes and coordinates our book fairs twice a year and helps to organize events such as Read Across America and guest authors. When we were in the midst of our Covid years, Mrs. P helped us out by teaching a remote class for a year and also helps the district each year by mentoring the secondary library tech.  Cindy is also a constant source of positivity in our building who has invested a significant amount of time on our PBIS team, our Leadership Team and the Sunshine Committee.

We are so very proud of Cindy receiving this award and we are truly blessed to have her as part of our team.  She helps to inspire our students to love reading while also encouraging each of us as we go through life’s twists and turns. Thank you Mrs. P for all that you do for our school, our students, and for each of us.
