We are happy to announce that the USDA has again extended free meals to all children 18 and under through June 30, 2021. This means that all of our students will continue to have access to free breakfast and free lunch through the remainder of the school year.
Although we will be offering free meals to all, it is still important that all households complete the yearly Free/Reduced lunch application. We simply enter the data to compile a snapshot for the district/school as a whole. Our eligible numbers of free and reduced based on economics is one deciding factor in many grant applications. Our school funding from the government is also based on our eligible free and reduced numbers. Both good reasons to fill out the application by helping to reduce your tax burden. In addition, your child’s lunch status will carry over for the first 30 days of the next school year, meaning if they are determined to be free or reduced they will start the beginning of next year the same way. If you would rather not send in a paper application you can visit www.nlappscloud.com and fill it out electronically.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children’s nutritional needs and for helping our school district secure funding for our future.
Sincerely,
Gena Cloutier
