Below are the Spirit Days - students who dress up will earn points for their class! - Monday, 9/16: USA Day -- (Wear red, white & blue!) - Tuesday, 9/17: Tropical Day - Wednesday, 9/18: Holiday Day - Thursday, 9/19: Career Day -- (Please make sure the career portrayed is very obvious, and appropriate.) - Friday, 9/20: Class Color Day -- Seniors - White -- Juniors - Navy Blue -- Sophomores - Black -- Freshmen - Red

This afternoon RSU 56 staff attended a training on Generative AI put on by Justin Cary from Drummond Woodsum. Our goal at RSU56 is to educate our staff on A.I. use in education so that our staff can teach our students with the most recent technology initiatives.

We're off to a great start after Freshmen Day! Tomorrow is the first full day back for everyone and we can't wait to see you all! (Quick reminder to check your schedules in PowerSchool to stay up to date, as there may have been changes since they were mailed out.)

We're so excited to see our upcoming 9th graders tomorrow on Freshmen Day! Tomorrow will also be a B Day for our Region 9 students. Don't forget to pick up your lunch at the kitchen first! (See our prior post.) (Reminder: There may have been changes since schedules were mailed out, so students should make sure to check PowerSchool to stay up to date!) If your student is attending Region 9 this school year, please remember that breakfast and lunch must be picked up at DHS before going to Region 9 for the day. Students can pick up meals 7:30 to 8:00. This includes the first week of Region 9. If a student does not come to DHS to pick up their meals, they will not be provided lunch during the school day. Please call DHS if you have any questions!

Good Morning from RSU 56. There will be no school in RSU 56 today, 5/29/24 due to route 108 being closed still from the incident that occurred last night in Peru. This closure will not change the last day of school, more information will be coming out later today. Thank you and have a great day.

Attention to all Dirigo Juniors & Seniors: Dirigo High School Junior/Senior Prom is May 4th, 2024 at 49 Franklin in Rumford. Tickets are on sale until May 1st, 2024. Tickets are $30/each. Tickets are required for all students attending prom, including guests. Students and/or guests who did not purchase a ticket will not be admitted. Guests from outside of Dirigo/RSU 56 are allowed as long as they are in high school, or 1-year removed from high school, and are cleared by the superintendent to attend. Juniors & Seniors should see Ms. Broomhall in Room 208 before school, after school, or between classes to purchase tickets. Grand March line up is at 6:30pm. Grand March & Photos are from 7:00pm-8:00pm, Prom is from 8:00-11:00pm, Prom royalty will be announced at 10:00pm. Water and snacks will be available and free to all students who purchase prom tickets. 49 Franklin will also have sodas and non-alcoholic smoothies available for cash purchase. A professional photographer will present throughout the evening & students will have access to the photos after the event.
